Michael Giannulis Fasting Log
I have decided to focus this blog around health. As you may know, I lost a bunch of weight on a weight-loss show back in 2012.
I then went on to gain that weight back and pretty much had to start over. Thankfully, I found a strategy and program that work for me.
Over the last year, I’ve also started the practice of intermittent fasting. I really love it.
I use an app called Zero which I really love. I’ve tried several different apps and Zero seems to be the best for me. Each week they send me updates on how I did and how much time I spent fasting.
There are many wonderful things that happen when we fast and I’m working on a blog post all about that for a later date. In the meantime, I’ll just post some stats on how this week went.
Here we go!
Michael Giannulis Fasting Stats Week Of 8/3/2020 – 8/8/2020
For this week I completed a total of 7 fasts. A fast is basically anything longer than 12 hours without eating. You don’t get as much benefit with only a 12 hour fast, so I tend to only use them on the weekends when my wife wants to spend more time with me going to breakfast and things like that.
My total hours fasted for the week were 139.6 which is close to 140 hours. A 7 day week has a total of 168 hours so if you look at it from a percentage standpoint I was fasting 83% of the week. Sounds pretty epic.
One thing I also do is what I call Mealless Monday’s. I always fast 24 hours from Sunday night to Monday night. So, the name isn’t perfect because I usually eat my first meal around 5pm on Monday.
On occasion I’ll stretch that out to 48 hours and break my fast Tuesday around 5pm. It’s amazing how good you can feel when you fast, honestly.
I never thought I would be able to do some of what I’ve done with fasting. My longest fast so far has been close to 73 hours. I have a goal to do a 5 day fast, but I’m not quite sure when I’ll get to it.
And that’s it! That’s my update for the week.
